Worst Film in January:
Cloverfiel has many fans. Sadly, I’m not one of them. I’m quite picky when it comes to horror movies. And I guess I’m not the only one who’s bored with hand camera movies…

Apart from that:

I’ll watch Django Unchained today but will put it into my February post.

I’ve got a letterboxd account now. Feel free to add me: http://letterboxd.com/bearnerdette/

Also, if you haven’t seen it yet, please take a look at my directorial debut and feel free to give me some feedback: https://bearnerdette.wordpress.com/2013/01/26/take-a-look-at-my-directorial-debut/

And last but not least, if you know Prometheus AND weylandindustries.com, please fill out my survey here:

You also have he chance to win a movie poster set! 🙂

I need your help, fellow movie fans!

For my final thesis, I examine and analyze the effect of virtual reality movie marketing, especially in regard to ‘fan groups’.

My focus lies on the website weylandindustries.com. If you have seen Prometheus and have been to that website before, would you be so kind and participate?

It’s only ten questions and you have the chance to win a movie poster set!

The survey is completely anonymous, but you can leave your e-mail-address if you want to have the chance to win the movie posters.

Here’s the link: http://de.surveymonkey.com/s/BKKWWLT

Take a look at my directorial debut

26 Jan

Created during a study project, this spot was a contribution to a competition with focus on the topics ‘saving energy’ and ‘sustainability’. Our goal was to try a new angle, to make a very unconventional and creative spot. The question behind our spot is: How would you feel if you always had to waste energy, if you were always on standby? The people depicted become metaphors for the household appliances wasting energy. Feedback is welcome! 🙂

Hey boys and girls! Restructuring ahead!

12 Jan

Lately I haven’t been able to update this blog a lot and I am also not very content with the way it is right now. So I will do some ‘restructuring’. Or at least I’ll try it out. Instead of irregular posts about this or that, I’ll now try to do one elaborate overview per month, writing down what new movies I’ve seen, etc. There’ll only be sporadic other posts when I want to inform you about something or have the urgent need to talk about a new discovery (e.g. a trailer).

I hope you’ll stay tuned!      Bearnerdette
Yours truly, Bearnerdette!

P.S.. I also might add a new category: Writing.

P.P.S.: If you know any huge Alien-/Prometheus-Fans or blogs which focus on these films, please let me know.

Real Life Info + Promising New Trailers

26 Nov

I realize I haven’t been active a lot lately and I apologize for that. I am currently pretty busy with preparing my Master thesis and it focusses, who would have guessed, on films! Namely on the online marketing for the film Prometheus. It will include a survey and I intend to post it here as well, as soon as I am ready with preparing it, and I hope that you will do me the favor and fill it out (you probably will not even have to have seen the film to be able to do it). You’d all do me a huge favor. Also, if anyone of you would consider mentioning it on your own blogs/reblogging it, that would help even more. 🙂
But I don’t updated today in order to only bore you. Here’s a bunch of new promising trailers. What do you think about them?

I know this was based on a book by the author of Twilight, but I still think it looks promising. And I’m a big fan of Saoirse Ronan!

I can’t wait to see this one. It looks so promising! The whole idea is fantastic. (I guess I am in the process of becoming a zombie film fan).

Great Songs in Film Musicals – part 2

26 Oct

So, here’s part two of my series about great music numbers in musical films. Enjoy!

1. I am a Dentist – Little Shop of Horrors

I absolutely love this musical. In my opinion, it is perfect in every aspect. I immensely enjoy the absurdity and the unusual characters. There are many great songs in it, but my favorite has to be this inspiring number sung by Steve Martin. Anyone else ever thought of sending their dentists a link to this?

2. Easy to be hard – Hair

I first thought about choosing ‘Good Morning Starshine’ but then I changed my mind. This is the most intense performance from the Hippie – musical Hair. Its sung with so much emotion – Cheryl Barnes did a really great job!

3. Sweet Transvestite – The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Sometimes I seriously question the taste (maybe even the sanity) of people who do not like The Rocky Horror (Picture) Show. Come on, it’s absolutely perfect and you know it! And in this case I must admit, my decision to take this song was rather random – there are just too many great songs in it to choose.
