2012’s Biggest Oscar Snubs

19 Feb

Drive:
This wonderful masterpiece of a film deserved a nomination in the Best Directing category for Nicolas Winding Refn, as well as one for Ryan Gosling whose amazing performance of a silent guy driven to violence by some gangsters has sent shivers down our spine. Drive got a nomination for sound editing, but that’s clearly not enough.

Michael Fassbender:
For playing a sex addict who not only shows us his body (all of it!) but also his soul, Michael Fassbender would have deserved a nomination. Rumors claim that the film was to ‘visual’ for the Academy’s taste. What a… SHAME.

The Adventures of TinTin:
We don’t really get why this film has not spot in the list of  ‘Animated Feature Film’-Nominees. It just doesn’t make any sense. If anyone has an explanation for this, please enlighten us.

I couldn’t agree more with your complete list, especially as it pertains to Drive! Nicholas Wending Refn and Ryan Gosling outdid themselves with that gem of a film.
